China Animal Husbandry Industry Co (CAHIC) launched a feed production base project with an annual capacity of 40,000 metric tons in the Guiyang Free Trade Zone (Guiyang FTZ) on Sept 4, boosting upgrades and quality improvements.
CAHIC is a key enterprise in the domestic veterinary drug and feed industry and a national leading enterprise in agricultural industrialization. In early 2026, Guiyang FTZ signed a strategic cooperation agreement with CAHIC, which has supported preparatory work such as site selection and planning, provided full-process follow-up services, and achieved project establishment in just half a year.
The newly settled feed production base project involves a total investment of 100 million yuan ($14.9 million). It plans to construct both premix and full-price concentrated feed production workshops with annual capacities of 20,000 tons.
The launch of this project will bridge CAHIC's production capacity gap in Southwest China, improve the company's nationwide industrial strategic layout, and solidify the core competitiveness of its feed sector. At the same time, it will further strengthen the livestock feed industry chain in Guiyang FTZ, helping to upgrade the regional modern agricultural industry system.
