Guizhou Yunsu Technology Development Co, a new company recently established in Guiyang Free Trade Zone (Guiyang FTZ), will begin production by the end of this month.
Once the project reaches full capacity next year, it is expected to become the largest recycled plastic utilization project in Southwest China. It will transform 300,000 metric tons of waste plastic into valuable resources annually, achieving an annual output value of 1.5 billion yuan ($219.41 million).
As a key enterprise in Guizhou's recycled plastic sector, the company will focus on the resource-based and high-value utilization of waste plastics. The company specializes in the R&D, production, and sale of food-grade and industrial-grade recycled plastic pellets, such as PP, PE, and HDPE. Its mission is to build a comprehensive green circular industrial system covering recovery, sorting, modification, regeneration, and traceability.
Once the project is fully operational, the facility will scale up significantly. The production lines will be increased to over 40, approximately 1.8 million tons of oil will be saved, 990,000 tons of carbon emissions will be reduced, along with a significant decrease in the discharge of harmful substances like dioxins and soot.
To ensure a steady supply of raw materials, the company plans to establish 100 standardized sorting centers across the province. This recovery network, structured as "provincial hub + regional centers + county-level outlets", will collect waste plastic near the source, improve material purity through technology, and reduce transportation costs and enhance supply capacity. This full-chain industrial approach is expected to boost the local economy and drive employment opportunities across the region.
