A project titled "Pilot-scale Vacuum Isothermal Forging Platform for 3D-printed Titanium Alloy Disc Shaft Blanks", jointly proposed by Guizhou Zircon Technology Development Co and Guizhou Equipment Manufacturing Polytechnic within Guiyang Free Trade Zone (Guiyang FTZ), has recently secured funding approval.
The project has received over 6 million yuan ($860,148) in support from the Guizhou Provincial Department of Science and Technology, marking a major milestone in Guiyang FTZ's push to develop pilot-scale validation and technology transfer platforms for critical technologies.
Focusing on the maturation and application of key technologies like 3D-printed titanium alloy blanks, the platform will offer pilot validation, process optimization, and technical support services to industry partners upon completion. This initiative is strategically vital for attracting high-end resources, bolstering industrial chain resilience, and enhancing core competitiveness.
Upon completion, the platform is expected to generate at least 200 million yuan in additional output value for the lead company and its supply chain partners. The platform is projected to exceed 10 million yuan in annual service revenue, while the lead company aims to achieve annual revenues of no less than 50 million yuan and maintain R&D investment of at least 12 million yuan.
These outcomes will significantly strengthen Guiyang FTZ's high-end equipment manufacturing industry by extending, reinforcing, and upgrading its industrial chain, thereby driving quality improvements and overall sector advancement.
