The World Economic Forum (WEF) unveiled its first batch of "lighthouse factories" for 2025 on Jan 14, with Guizhou Tyre Co earning a spot on the list. The company is the first tyre manufacturer in China and the first in Southwest China's Guizhou province to achieve this honor.
In recent years, Guizhou Tyre has embraced smart manufacturing by completing a full-scale digital transformation of its production systems. The company has implemented more than 40 advanced solutions from the Fourth Industrial Revolution, including artificial intelligence-powered simulation design, predictive data analysis, natural language processing models, and specialized algorithms. These innovations have boosted manufacturing agility and enhanced quality control.

The WEF has recognized Guizhou Tyre for its leadership in integrating digital technologies, praising the company's exceptional success in improving productivity and strengthening supply chain resilience. Looking ahead, Guizhou Tyre plans to further its efforts by deepening its use of AI and other advanced technologies. The company aims to develop more intelligent and digital applications, positioning itself as a "lighthouse" of high-quality growth in China's tyre industry.
The "lighthouse factory" initiative was introduced by the WEF in partnership with McKinsey & Company at the 2018 Summer Davos Forum, and the "lighthouse factories" list is widely seen as a global benchmark for cutting-edge, smart and digital manufacturing.
