The government affairs service center at the Guiyang Free Trade Zone – located in Southwest China's Guizhou province – is currently being upgraded to optimize and streamline its services for the public, and the revamped facilities will start working in June.

The old formal service windows are being removed to bring people and government officials physically closer. The front desk will also be connected to the internet to handle simple queries.

The center will be equipped with reading areas, 24/7 self-service stations, meeting areas and interactive areas. It will also provide bonded services -- for the issuance of electronic port cards and export rebates, among others -- for companies and individuals.

In future, the center is expected to coordinate services for the customs, commerce and taxation departments.
