The Guiyang Free Trade Zone (Guiyang FTZ) – located in the city of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – sent a delegation to promote investment at the 130th China Import and Export Fair on Oct 14-15.

Led by Liu Lisha, head of the Guiyang Bureau of Commerce, the delegation visited various exhibition stands, including those for imported electronics, household electrical appliances and design awards for export products.

The giant expo, more commonly known as Canton Fair – the largest trade show in the country – was inaugurated in the spring of 1957. It is held twice a year in the city of Guangzhou in South China's Guangdong province during spring and fall, with the event being credited for playing a seminal role over the years in China's reform and opening-up drive and for promoting its foreign trade.

This year's fair attracted 600,000 visitors, while companies from 228 countries and regions participated in its online exhibitions. It's estimated that 32.73 million people visited the online platforms and 350,000 watched the live online broadcasts of companies.

More than 500 enterprises took part in the on-site exhibition and 18 international companies sent along commercial buyers to the fair.

The Guiyang FTZ was designated as a "Guizhou Guiyang Processing Trade Industrial Park" in September. Plans are for it to further expand its promotions through platforms like the China Processing Trade Products Fair and the China International Import Expo.
